Take a break in Halkidiki

The Halkidiki region stretches along the northern coast of mainland Greece, with its white, sandy beaches and crystal clear water, its unspoiled beauty alone is enough reason to pack your bags for a vacation. The best time of the year to travel is just as the temperature starts rising to twenty degrees Celsius during the spring, but if you prefer the hotter weather, then July through September is a great time.

Ikos Oceania has a tranquil atmosphere overlooking the Mediterranean

Although the area has plenty of hotels and resorts to stay in, Ikos Oceania, is one worth trying. It is situated alongside a private beach and offers a five-star hotel and spa looking across the Mediterranean. The accommodation has a selection of luxurious, modern suites and restaurants.

Ikos Oceania is the ultimate when it comes to relaxation with their indoor heated pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and comfy loungers so that one can just stretch out. The spa offers facials, shiatsu massage, or morning yoga with a calming view of the sea. If you just like to catch a tan at the poolside, the waiters are there all day to serve up a cocktail.

The resort has a warm feel to it and peaceful surroundings. If you prefer, you can always upgrade to the resort’s Deluxe Collection of suites which have much larger rooms and their own exclusive pools for a bit more privacy.

They offer guests a great dining experience with a menu which has everything from Greek to Asian cuisine. Four such à la carte restaurants are available, and the menus were designed by award-winning chefs.

Fusco’s white interiors offer a pleasant dining experience

The Italian restaurant, Fusco, has stunning white interiors looking out over the ocean. They have a “dine out option” which allows guests to visit selected restaurants and have an eating al fresco experience in the Greek coastal town of Nea Moudania.

If you’re into cultural experiences, then a visit to Nikiti Old Town is a must. The town is a thirty-minute drive from the resort, not too far and you can take a leisurely walk through the quiet, narrow alleys past the historical buildings and sip on Greek coffee in the gorgeous cafes.

Halkidiki is a simply fabulous holiday destination for solo or group travelers and is popular with couples and large families too.
