Trade Travel Athens 2016 is approaching and as Athens’ major annual trade event, many foreign and Greek tourism professionals and business executives will be attending this year.
It is now the leading professional trade workshop in Athens focusing on global tourism. Now in its fourth year, it will host selected international buyers who focus particularly on Athens and Greece.
Coming up soon, Travel Trade Athens 2016 will take place on 2-3 October 2016 at the Grande Bretagne in Athens. This year, the event is set to host over ninety-five representatives including tour operators, travel agencies, and businesses, as well as conference and event organizers. Prominent journalists from the conference tourism sector mostly from Europe and North America will also be present.
Sixty hosted buyers and journalists are confirmed to be attending this year, while more than ninety vendors covering the entire spectrum of the tourism market have already registered for the event.
Particular emphasis will be directed toward the Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Events (MICE) sector. Hence, a special agreement has been made with the Conference & Travel Publications (CAT), which will ensure that up to twenty leading MICE buyers will participate this year.
The workshop aims to cultivate cooperation between international tourism services buyers and local tourism industry suppliers. Hopefully, this will bring about solid business agreements and long-term relations that will establish Athens as an all-year-round destination.
A FAM trip program for the participant buyers will be organized this year to highlight the choice of options and services which are now available in Athens. The program will provide visitors with the opportunity to get a taste of an authentic Athens experience.
During previous workshops, hosted from 2013 – 2015, over six thousand meetings occurred between hosted buyers and businesses located in Athens and Greece, and as many as two hundred buyers from thirty countries participated.
Visitors can expect the following line up at Travel Trade Athens 2016:
• A three-day visit for buyers, parallel FAM trips and guided tours, which will present the city’s tourist portfolio as well as the competitive advantages associated with metropolitan Athens as a tourist destination.
• Pre-scheduled business appointments will be conducted. These appointments will be rotated with a guaranteed minimum number of set arrangements.
• Several educational and information sessions will be organized.
